Today during the IV EUBC the Tournament between the members of mass media has been held. It is also worth mentioning that men and women played together. The first stage of the tournament was organized in groups, the 2nd one was held according to the Olympic system.

Today the finalists of the 4th EUBC in singles and doubles were defined. In men's semifinals Jens Roch(Germany) and Russian player Vladimir Ivanov (University of Chelyabinsk) confidently defeated their opponents from the same country: Jens played with Sebastian Schottler 2:0(22-20,21-12) and Vladimir compete with Sergey Lunev. The score was 2:0(21-15, 21-18). Schottler and Lunev became the bronzes medalists of the championship.

In the 4th EUBC matches in doubles are held today in the morning. After 2 rounds which were played yesterday we can say that there is no sensation. The best pairs in MD, WD and MX continue to compete today. One of the quarterfinals was between two Russian teams: the first pair on this tournament Andrey Ashmarin/Anton Nazarenko (Moscow State University of Forestry) faced to Vladimir Ivanov/Nikita Khakimov (University of Chelyabinsk).

The individual events in the 4th EUSC starts today. Matches in MS were from 10:00 till 13:00, 56 students from 11 European countries took part. There were 17 Russian sportsmen. Two of them Sergey Ivlev (University of Moscow, Russia) and Vladimir Ivanov (University of Chelyabinsk) began to play in the second round. Other 15 sportsmen had already played one match. Nikita Hakimov faced to Sergey Chulanov and defeated him 2:0 (21-18, 21-17). All other Russian players have won their matches and now successfully continue to compete.

Jury of Appeal together with Kruse Bastian the technical delegate of EUSA have adjudged the defeat to the University of Vladivostok. The 4th European badminton championship winner in team event is the University of Hamburg (Germany). University of Vladivostok is the second.

The team event of the 4th European badminton championship has finished. Final matches were played by University of Vladivostok (Russia) and University of Hamburg (Germany). The match was a hard fighting. Vladivostok defeated Germany 3:2.
In the match for the bronze medals team of Loughborough University (England) lost to NTU KHPI (Ukraine) 3:0. Finec of St. Petersburg (Russia) team took the 7th place. After the final matches several players gave us brief interviews.
German delegation indicates a fall to the technical delegate of EUSA Kruse Bastian. So, the final results haven't been approved yet.

The first playing day of the 4th European universities badminton championship is over. Today group events and team quarterfinals took place.
There are the teams from 17 Universities and 9 countries in team events of the championship. They were divided into 6 groups with 3 teams (in group "B" there were only 2 Universities). The winners of each group reached the quarterfinals. Universities, which took the second place in their group, will be playing for the places from 7 to 12 and Universities, which took the third place in their group, will be playing for the places from 13 to 17 tomorrow.
